The current handhelds for the CDC ( Central Distribution Center ) were over 8 years old and support costs where rising. Also upgrades to the WAN where causing a problem for legacy AS400 connections. These connections would not be possible after the required Cisco upgrades where completed.
FLCC came in and ran the project which included a comparison of the current offerings in handheld scanners. The people involved in IT department and the warehouse looked at ease of use from both perspectives and chose the appropriate scanner for their work.
A wireless standard required that a specified Wireless Access Point was to be used in the implementation. Working with the handheld vendor we installed the Access Points into the CDC while implementing a wireless network. The result is a happy warehouse manager with the latest technology which works for them.
